The area is located between southern Maryland and northern Virginia on the Potomac River. The population of Front Royal, Virginia is 15,278, making it the 2,271st largest city in the United States. The town’s total area is 9.5 square miles (24.6 km2), compared to 15.2 square miles (24 km2) in the surrounding cities. The population is primarily male (47%) and female (52%) and is located on the North Fork of the Shenandooh River. However, a number of residents are over 65 years of age, making the population density in the city higher.

Residents of Front Royal are overwhelmingly white, with only 9.1% blacks and 7.1% people of other races. Those who identify themselves as Hispanic make up 7.5% of the population. The unemployment rate in Front Royal is 7.2% among adults 16 and older, with 16.5% working in government. You can also expect to find plenty of jobs in Front Royal, Virginia if you search hard enough.
