If you’re traveling to Helen, Georgia, you’ll love the town’s Bavarian architecture and vineyards. You’ll also find camping and hiking options in Unicoi State Park. From there, you can take the Chattahoochee National Forest trails to Anna Ruby and Raven Cliff waterfalls. Nearby, Dukes Creek is home to trout, which make the area’s rivers a popular destination for fishing. Hardman Farm State Historic Site features an 1870 homestead as well as the Nacoochee Indian Mound burial site.

If you’d prefer to drive, you’ll find plenty of parking in the downtown area. There are also a couple of pay lots nearby. Some of these require you to pay in cash to the attendant, while others have self-pay kiosks where you can use a credit card. You can also get an Uber or Lyft if you’re traveling from a larger city. While these services aren’t yet widespread in Helen, there are a few drivers.

If you’re looking for a more local experience, you can try one of Helen’s popular hiking trails. The Raven Cliff Falls trail is 4.9 miles long, and is located just six miles from the downtown area. In addition to Raven Cliff Falls, you can also explore Dukes Creek Falls and Helton Creek Falls. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing hike or a thrilling mountain climb, there’s a trail in Helen that’s perfect for the whole family.

Visitors to Helen can spend their time exploring the area. The city has several attractions, and it’s close to other must-see towns in the region. Just a few miles away from Helen, Hiawassee offers waterfall-riddled High Shoals Falls, a local antique mall, and high-end restaurants. A few miles further north, Toccoa Falls has the highest single-drop waterfall east of the Mississippi. A day trip to these locations can be a great way to explore Helen and the surrounding area.

Visiting Helen in the winter is a good idea if you want to enjoy the local culture and have a wonderful time while traveling. The town hosts several events, including the annual German Christmas Parade, and is part of the Georgia Heritage Arts Association. The wineries in Helen are also worth a visit. The award-winning Wolf Mountain Winery and Habersham Winery are just a few of the many wineries in the area. In addition to the wineries, you can enjoy some great shopping in the town’s over 200 specialty stores. In fact, you can find world-class dining in the Valhalla Resort Hotel.
