If you’re looking for something to do in Knoxville, Tennessee, you’ve come to the right place. From outdoor adventures to fine dining, this charming city has it all. In addition to the great food, Knoxville is also home to several cultural institutions. You’ll find art, history, natural history, and railroad museums, as well as a children’s museum. You can also enjoy a live opera or symphony performance in the city’s half-dozen professional and community theatres. Families will also enjoy the Knoxville Zoo, which has one of the best Asian exhibits in the country.

The Tennessee River is navigable to barges and has nine dams. The city has four reservoirs located nearby, which makes water accessible to residents. While boating down the Tennessee River, visitors can engage in a variety of water sports and bird watching, as well as dining at riverside restaurants. The city’s population is around one million. Visiting the city is an exciting experience, and if you’re looking for a place to call home, Knoxville is definitely worth a visit.

The city of Knoxville is a liberal college town surrounded by conservative rural areas. Although the city has made steady improvements to the air quality in recent years, it still ranks as one of the country’s 25 worst cities for air pollution. Although a coal power plant is set to close in 2023, natural pollen problems are a permanent feature. If you’re looking to buy a home in Knoxville, you’ll need a car, but you’ll have to pay a premium for a car in Knoxville.

While visiting Knoxville, Tennessee, be sure to check out the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. Open in 1999, this museum honors the women who have made the sport so popular. There are three courts inside, and the facility features a timed dribbling course, an indoor basketball arena, and a photo area. Located near Neyland Stadium and Market Square, the facility is one-minute walk from the University of Tennessee. The Bijou Theater and Old City are also within walking distance.

While visiting Knoxville, you’ll also want to check out the Downtown area. Here you’ll find several museums and historic buildings, as well as restaurants, bars, and breweries. You’ll also find a sprawling former quarry known as the Ijams Nature Center, which has a trail for mountain biking and hiking. You’ll never be bored while visiting Knoxville! There’s something for everyone in Knoxville, and the downtown area is bustling with activities.

The first people to live in the area were the Woodland period inhabitants of the region. They lived here from 1000 BC until AD 1000. There are ruins of ancient burial mounds on the University of Tennessee campus. By the 18th century, the Cherokee were the dominant people in the area, following wars with the Shawnee and Creek. In the 17th century, European-American explorers came to the area. Hernando de Soto visited the island in 1540.
