If you are looking for a small town in the Southeast, Macon Georgia might be just the place for you. Its small town atmosphere and friendly locals are sure to make your trip to the area an unforgettable one. The town is home to the playable character Lee Everett. When the zombies overrun his hometown, Lee barricades himself inside his family’s pharmacy. Later, when a fellow survivor dies, he decides to escape Macon and head to Savannah.

The town of Macon is Georgia’s fourth largest city, and is located in the heart of the state. Macon is known as the cherry blossom capital of the United States, and has several historic attractions to explore. The city is home to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, and the Harriet Tubman African American Museum. Visitors can stay in the town’s historic Downtown area, and there are several hotels to choose from.

The town’s history goes back to the 19th century, when the town served as a Confederate supply depot and gold depository. On April 20, 1865, Macon was captured by Union cavalry commander General James H. Wilson. After the Civil War, Macon’s economy recovered slowly, but was stimulated by World War I, which increased industrial employment. In the 1940s and 1950s, Macon became an important military installation.

Macon is also home to the Tubman Museum of Art, the largest museum in the Southeast dedicated to African American culture. The museum features artifacts from the city’s rich history of black artists and music. The Inventors Gallery showcases the innovative works of African Americans. The Inventors Gallery is an excellent place to see the technology that African Americans have contributed to the world. The museum’s collections are complemented by exhibits from the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.

While there are many ways to travel around the city, the main form of transportation is private automobile. Macon Downtown Airport is located near downtown. This airport is used for corporate flights and small planes, while Middle Georgia Regional Airport serves the city for public air service and cargo flights. The Macon Transit Authority runs a comprehensive public transit city bus system in the city. The public transit system also offers express bus services to Warner Robins, Georgia. If you do not have a car, you can use Uber or Lyft services.

The Cherry Blossom Festival is another great way to enjoy spring in Macon. In the spring, there are over three hundred thousand Yoshino Cherry trees blooming in the city. The festival includes live music performances, dances, and tours. Over one hundred thousand visitors attend the festival. The event celebrates international friendship, beauty, and love. Mercer University was established in 1833 as a Baptist institute and moved to Macon in 1871. Mercer University is the second largest Baptist-affiliated university in the world, with an Atlanta campus. It is the only small university to offer both business and liberal arts programs. The school offers programs in education, nursing, pharmacy, and theology. The school has been in business in Macon for over a century, and its history is filled with notable figures.
