May 17, 2022 | More: Manzanita Oregon| Why Travel to

Located in the coastal region of Tillamook County, Oregon, Manzanita is a seaside community along U.S. Route 101. Manzanita has a population of 393 as of the 2020 census. The city is about 25 miles south of Seaside and 25 miles north of Tillamook. A few reasons to consider moving to Manzanita include its mild climate and secluded atmosphere.

One of the most popular activities in Manzanita is kayaking. The Nehalem River and Bay are perfect for kayaking. Wheeler Marina rents kayaks by the hour and day. Kayak Tillamook, one of the oldest guide services on the coast, offers guided tours. Instructors will teach you how to use your kayak correctly and also take you sight-seeing. In addition to kayaking, you can also enjoy the town’s many scenic attractions while on your vacation.

The town has several shops to choose from. The town is home to the Moxie boutique, a fair trade, boutique that supports a network of hundreds of village and women’s cooperatives around the world. The boutique also has a winery and tasting room. The Moxie location is a great place to visit if you want to support the local economy while in Manzanita. In addition, the Moxie store is located only 3 blocks from the beach.

The Ocean Inn, a charming inn in the heart of the town, offers comfortable accommodations close to the sea. You’ll find plenty of parking spaces and access to the village’s five-mile public beach. Guests can also take a walk through the forested trails, which offer a view of Neahkahnie Bay. The NeahKahnie Mountain is a short distance away, making it an ideal activity for families.

Depending on your preferences, you’ll find many options for lodging in Manzanita. You can stay in a separate house, or choose from one of the many cottages and bungalows that are located along the seashore. Some of the properties offer oceanfront views, free Wi-Fi, and beautiful kitchens. The Manzanita Rentals staff can assist you every step of the way, from booking to enjoying your vacation.

The South Trail in Manzanita offers some breathtaking views of the ocean. The trail takes you up to the Neahkahnie Mountain viewpoint. While the North Trail is closed because of a blow-down tree, the South Trail is open. This 1.8-mile hike offers panoramic views of the surrounding coast. The elevation gain is 900 feet in a mile, with the steep first mile. After completing the hike, you can also enjoy other activities in the area, such as kayaking, clamming, and fishing.

When visiting Manzanita, Oregon, be sure to check out the town’s attractions. It’s close to Wheeler and Nehalem. The Nehalem Bay provides excellent fishing, especially for sturgeon and steelhead trout. In addition to fishing, clam-digging at low tide is an option. Historically, Manzanita drew Portland tourists who wanted to experience the pristine beaches and striking exposed cliffs.
