15 Reasons Why you should Stay in Mashpee Massachusetts

May 18, 2022 | More: Mashpee Massachusetts| Why Travel to

If you’re considering moving to Mashpee Massachusetts, then you’re not alone. The town is located on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and has a population of around 15,060 people. Mashpee is home to the headquarters of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, a federally recognized tribal organization. The town’s population is a blend of residents from many different backgrounds.

A dynamic downtown district has become the main attraction of Mashpee. Once an inconspicuous area with little to offer, residents have turned it into a bustling center of business. While many travelers aren’t familiar with the town’s history, it’s now one of the most popular destinations in the New England region. While you’re in town, make sure you explore the local attractions and check out the downtown.

The first European-American settlement in Mashpee was established in 1658. The missionary Richard Bourne, from Sandwich, helped settle the town. In 1660, the Wampanoag, who were also Christians, were allowed to live in the settlement. In 1665, the town was granted a court of law and trials according to English custom. This marked the beginning of Masspee’s development as a significant city and a vibrant cultural center.

The town is part of the Barnstable County region of Cape Cod. It borders Sandwich, Falmouth, and Barnstable, and lies on the “upper” portion of the peninsula. In addition to being a vibrant community, Mashpee has several census-designed places, including Seabrook, Monomoscoy Island, and Popponesset. The town also includes the island of Seconsett. While Mashpee may be larger than other towns on Cape Cod, it retains its rural, quaint character.

There is plenty to do in Mashpee, MA, whether you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, or a cosmopolitan center with an array of restaurants to suit every budget. There’s even a children’s museum. If you’re looking for a romantic spot for two, consider the Wicked Restaurant and Wine Bar. Caribbean Mango Glazed Wings and Wicked Meatballs will make your date feel romantic. Volvo dealerships also have refined vehicles for touring Mashpee.

The town’s sandy soil, ponds, and inlets make it an idyllic setting for outdoor recreation. There are four large freshwater ponds in Mashpee. Additionally, it boasts the largest tract of undeveloped forest on Cape Cod. For schools, Mashpee has two elementary schools and a high school. The high school, in fact, shares the same building as the middle school. It is also home to a Technology “Center of Excellence” that has received statewide recognition for its industry education and innovative course offerings.

In addition to the amenities listed above, there are many other things to see and do in Mashpee, including a thriving community of restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a vacation home or a growing family home, there are plenty of places to visit. And with a location so close to Cape Cod, you’re sure to find everything you need in this town. So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and explore Mashpee today!
