15 Reasons Why you should Stay in Oahu

July 28, 2022 | More: Oahu| Why Travel to

There is plenty to see and do in Oahu, Hawaii. From the many warm beaches to the cliffs and lush forests, this island offers it all. It has everything from friendly locals to world-class golf and tennis facilities. The landscape and scenery are breathtaking, and the local cuisine is second to none. No matter what you choose to do, you’ll find the perfect blend of activities and relaxation on Oahu.

The island’s North Shore is the best place to stay if you’re planning to surf. It is less developed than the south and west sides, but the people here are very friendly and relaxed. The only drawback to this part of the island is that it’s further from town, so it offers less entertainment. It has fewer stores and lodgings than other parts of the island, but you’ll get a great view of the ocean.

Makapu’u Point Lighthouse Trail – A four-kilometer long paved trail that offers unparalleled views of the Pacific. This trail leads up to the lighthouse and observation deck, and is considered one of the most family-friendly trails on Oahu. It’s important to pack water and sunscreen since there’s little shade on this trail. Also, you’ll want to wear comfortable shoes because you’ll be walking for some time.

Honolulu – The main town on Oahu, Honolulu, is home to a number of hotels and tourist attractions. You can easily walk around Honolulu and Diamond Head. If you’re on a tight budget, you can choose to stay near Honolulu Airport and close to all the action. A number of tours will even provide free transportation. While Honolulu offers plenty of things to do, the town lacks in plant life and greenery.

North Shore – The North Shore is the place to go if you’re looking for a more laid-back vacation atmosphere. The North Shore is less crowded than Waikiki, and is only half an hour’s drive from Honolulu Airport. A visit to North Shore is a must for any visitor to Oahu. While you’re there, be sure to spend time on the North Shore, where you’ll enjoy the best of the island.

Ala Moana – Located on the western end of Waikiki, Ala Moana Shopping Center is an excellent place to spend a day on the island. There is an endless supply of local food and shops to keep you entertained. From street-side food trucks to island farmers markets, there’s something for everyone. You can enjoy local dishes or indulge in international fusion menus created by Hawaiian star chefs. There are also a number of historical monuments to visit on Oahu.

Diamond Head – If you’re visiting Oahu for the first time, you’ll want to spend some time hiking up Diamond Head, the ridge-shaped crater that dominates the shoreline. This is a popular hiking spot and will give you stunning views of the island. You can also take a walk through the surrounding area to enjoy the views and relax in lush green spaces. Alternatively, you can rent a luxury hotel and stay in a quieter location.
