15 Reasons Why you should Stay in St. Petersburg Florida

July 12, 2022 | More: St. Petersburg Florida| Why Travel to

If you’re planning a beach vacation, you’ll need to decide which area of St. Petersburg Florida to stay in. While Downtown St. Pete is the best option for families and tourists, the south section of the city is also a nice place to stay for a bit of peace and quiet. This area also features several art galleries, boutiques, and bars. There are plenty of hotels and other accommodations available for guests, and many of them are built right on the beach.

Despite its sunny weather, living in St. Petersburg is surprisingly affordable. Housing expenses are around two-thirds less than the national average, and are up to seven percent lower than the state’s average. Plus, Florida has no state income tax, which can be a big benefit. With your newfound disposable income, you can spend more of it on your dream home in St. Pete. If you’re looking for a waterfront home, make sure to check whether it’s in a flood zone or evacuated if necessary. You’ll also be paying premiums for property taxes and insurance.

One of the hippest things to do in St. Petersburg is to take a stroll downtown. There are dozens of bars, nightclubs, and restaurants in the heart of the downtown area. Try your luck at one of the many local beer and cocktail bars. The famous Mandarin Hide, for example, is a hip craft cocktail bar that opened in 2010 and mixes classic cocktails with specialty drinks. In addition to great drinking and dining options, there are also many museums, including the Dali Museum.

Guests looking for a luxurious accommodation can stay in Downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. The historic Hollander Hotel, which opened in 1933, has undergone numerous redesigns. Its original hardwood maple flooring is still intact, bearing the scars of people who have walked on it over the last 90 years. The Courtyard by Mariott also has a pool, hot tubs, and terraces. There’s an a la carte breakfast served here.

Families can also enjoy Treasure Island, just 3 miles from the heart of St. Pete. This island is a popular spot for dolphin watching and has a quieter atmosphere than the nearby St. Pete Beach. In addition to being closer to downtown, Treasure Island offers more outdoor activities and a more relaxed atmosphere. Guests can also spend some time on the boardwalk or at the beach. A variety of restaurants, bars, and water sports can be enjoyed just a short drive away.

The waterfront of the city is the perfect place for a stroll. You can visit the famous Dali Museum or shop for local products and art at the St. Petersburg Saturday Morning Market. For those looking for a fun afternoon out, the pier also boasts a beautiful view of Tampa Bay. If you’re planning a vacation in the city, don’t forget to visit the Museum Of History in St. Petersburg. This is the oldest museum in the Pinellas County area.
