Waterville Valley is a small town in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 247. As of the 2020 census, the population was expected to grow to 508 people. However, if you visit the town today, you may see fewer people. In a survey conducted by Waterville Valley Tourism, residents and visitors were asked which places in the community they visited. While the Waterville Resort was ranked high on the list of places to visit, other popular attractions included hiking trails and area restaurants. Using public transit was the least popular choice, with only 35% of respondents indicating they used it. However, this low percentage may be due to the low satisfaction level among the respondents.

The town’s lack of a brand is one reason why many people don’t know it exists. The lack of a brand is felt as a potential economic opportunity, while others believe a brand might shape the area’s growth pattern. Despite the lack of branding, Waterville Valley is a great choice for families and skiers. A small-town atmosphere and recreational heritage are key factors for making the town a great choice.

Another great thing about traveling is meeting new people. In the Waterville Valley, there are nearly 300 locals and about 50 visitors. The town is located approximately 50 miles north of Concord and 16 miles from Moultonborough. You’ll meet many of them. They’ll be happy to share their knowledge of the area and show you the best parts of the town. The Waterville Valley is a great destination for any family vacation. This is a small town that offers the best of both worlds.

The town had a few challenges during the early years. The area lacked snow, so the ski area opened later than anticipated. The Kennedys also visited the area for their ski vacation, along with Senator Ted Kennedy and his wife, Sargent Shriver. Fortunately, they did not have to travel far to experience the Waterville Valley’s legendary skiing. During their visit, they were joined by John F. Kennedy Jr. and his sister, Ethel, and their father, Robert F. Kennedy Sr., who had a home in Waterville Valley.

In 1964, Ralph Bean was selling the Waterville Inn, and 400 acres of privately held land. At the time, Olympic skier Tom Corcoran began working with Sel Hannah’s Sno Engineering. He was flown around the Waterville Valley by Ted Farwell. Then, Corcoran incorporated the Waterville Company, which he called the Waterville Company. Eventually, Corcoran approached Senator Robert F. Kennedy and he began a successful business.
