15 Tourist Attractions in Albuquerque

January 21, 2022 | More: Albuquerque| Tourist Attractions

In the high desert, Albuquerque is the largest city in New Mexico. The city has a modern downtown core and historic Old Town Albuquerque, dating back to the Spanish colonial days. The former is filled with adobe buildings, 5 museums, Native American handicraft shops, and an Indian Pueblo Cultural Center tracing tribal history. For the history buff, a trip to the National Hispanic Cultural Center is a must.

The city has many attractions for kids. The Explora museum, which has two floors devoted to science, medicine, and space exploration, is a fun place to bring kids. It also has a special section on the history of personal computers. The entire museum is more than 20,000 square feet in size and contains 250 interactive exhibits. The museums cover a wide range of subjects, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly.

Visitors can visit the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park, a wildlife habitat and educational center. During the summer, you can stroll along trails through a rehabilitated wetland area and see chainsaw sculptures made by local artists. The Old Town area is home to the largest farmers’ market in the city, which has been running for 25 years. If you’re feeling adventurous, head to the Downtown Growers Market, a weekly gathering place featuring a variety of fresh produce and handmade items.

If shopping is not your thing, the city also offers unique dining options and museums. The Green Jeans Farmery is an urban-style mall constructed from reclaimed shipping containers. Guests can enjoy a brewpub operated by the Santa Fe Brewing Company, Chumley’s Southwestern, a modern take on Tex-Mex fare. There’s also a Nitro Fog Creamery, which serves nitrogen-infused ice cream flavors.

Visiting the Rattlesnake Museum is an essential part of any trip to Albuquerque. The museum has the largest collection of live rattlesnakes in the world. It also features exhibits about the history of snakes in popular culture. For those interested in the animal kingdom, the museums are a must-see. In addition to the Rattlesnake Park, the city is also home to the world’s longest tramway.

A variety of museums and historic sites are located throughout the city. The city’s many historical buildings can be seen from the sky, and its museums and galleries are open to the public. The ABQ Trolley is a great way to see the best of Albuquerque with the family. It is centrally located and offers many cultural options. This is a great place to take your kids because they can explore various artifacts.

In addition to museums and historic sites, you can enjoy a baseball game. The city’s Isotopes play their home games at Isotopes Park, which has a seating capacity of 13,279. The stadium has a small hill, similar to the one in Houston’s Astros Stadium, which is conducive to home runs. In addition, the San Felipe de Neri Church is one of the oldest buildings in the city. The city’s first church was built in 1793. The name was later changed to San Felipe de Neri, which has been in use for over 200 years.
