As one of the largest cities in the U.S., Baltimore is well-known for its history as an important seaport. The city is known for Fort McHenry, where the U.S. national anthem was born. The Inner Harbor is home to upscale crab shacks and shops. You can also tour the Civil War-era warship USS Constellation and visit the National Aquarium. A quick flight from Washington, DC will take you to Baltimore.

The USS Baltimore is a famous ship, built in the Naval Yard by George Herman Ruth. Babe Ruth was an American sporting legend who spent most of his career with the Yankees but played first with the Orioles. The USS Baltimore has a museum displaying artifacts from his life. You can see the captain’s uniform and the bat used in batting. You can visit the museum to learn about the famous sportsman.

Besides the National Aquarium, you can visit the American Visionary Arts Museum, which showcases the works of self-taught artists. You can even take a tour of the submarine. It is a great place to learn about Baltimore’s past as a manufacturing powerhouse. If you’d rather experience the culture of the city through the eyes of an artist, you can also visit the USS Torsk. The ship was built during World War II and is now part of the Historic Ships in the City Museum.

Another great place to visit in Baltimore is the Edgar Allan Poe National Memorial. The author’s grave is nearby. The museum features numerous exhibits, including a writing chair and desk. You can also visit the Walters Art Museum. The American Visionary Art Museum exhibits the work of self-taught artists. You can take a tour here and learn about their creative process. The USS Torsk is one of the most fascinating museums in Baltimore.

If you want to experience the city from the air, you should take a helicopter tour. If you’re a fan of literature, you should also visit the Edgar Allen Poe grave. The monument is a must-see if you love literature. There are also dozens of other attractions and landmarks to see during your visit to Baltimore.
