15 Tourist Attractions in Carmel by the Sea

February 16, 2022 | More: Tourist Attractions

Located on the Monterey Peninsula, Carmel-by-the-Sea is a small beach town in California. In addition to the Mission, the city is home to a library, fairytale cottages, and a whaling museum. It’s also home to a Scenic Bluff Path, which runs from the surf spot of the famous Carmel Beach to the state beach of the same name. Point Lobos, a whale-hunting museum, is another popular attraction in the town.

In the 1920s, Hugh Comstock created a series of “Hansel and Gretel Cottages” that are still standing. The quaint, colorful cottages were meant to evoke the famous tale of Hansel and Gretel. Today, the town’s lagoon is a popular destination for birdwatchers, and it is home to a variety of birds. More than 350 species of birds make the area home to stately pelicans, ducks, and a variety of other wildlife.

The 17 Mile Drive is the most popular stretch of road in the city, and it should take about three hours to complete the trip. It also features some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. In fact, the sand from Pebble Beach is used to restore the Waikiki beach in Hawaii. This means you can expect to spend at least three hours driving through the area. When it comes to food, you should head to a local restaurant.

While it’s impossible to see everything in one visit, you can always enjoy some of the local culture in this coastal town. There’s plenty of shopping to do, with both high-end and quaint family-owned shops. The majority of shops are located along Ocean Avenue, but there are also hubs on Dolores and 7th Streets. The town’s restaurants are dog-friendly and the terrace offers panoramic views of the ocean.

For fine dining, you can try some of the best restaurants in the town. There are many restaurants, from the rustic French-Italian La Bicyclette to a chic New American restaurant, which offers a stunning view of the ocean. The fine dining scene is also a big draw for tourists. Besides the incredible views, the food and the wine are fantastic in Carmel by the Sea. In addition to being beautiful, the town also has great shopping and an exciting nightlife.

Carmel by the Sea is a beautiful coastal town that is home to an abundance of beautiful beaches. The beachfront is just a short distance from the town center. There are plenty of opportunities to explore the area and enjoy the local cuisine. The historic Mission, whose official name is Mission San Carlos Borromeo del Rio Carmelo, is a great place to spend an evening. The church’s grounds are a wonderful setting for dinner.
