It has a population of around 10,000 and boasts several historic landmarks.

The downtown area is a thriving one with many unique shops and restaurants. Its Spanish-style buildings and streetscapes will leave a lasting impression. It’s a charming city that’s perfect for a weekend getaway or extended stay.

In the late 1800s, the Spanish explorer Onate settled this town at the confluence of the Chama and the Rio Grande rivers. It was the first railroad town in the state of New Mexico and served as a staging point between the cities of Santa Fe and Taos. Since then, the city has lain in its valley and a scenic backdrop awaits you. A drive up Interstate 84 from the northwest will reward you with a beautiful view of the valley below, a peaceful alternative to the bustling highway.

This town has many things to offer a family vacation. The main street of the city is the town’s downtown. The Plaza is the heart of the town, but the main street has a few restaurants and gas stations. The quaint downtown features a Spanish-style plaza. Locals and visitors alike can enjoy the town’s history and culture. It’s also easy to find nearby tourist attractions. Its central location makes it a great place for families to visit.

The area surrounding Espanola is very photogenic. The beautiful landscapes in the region make it a great place to take a photograph. Some of the most popular images of the area are taken from the plaza. In fact, the entire region is worth visiting. For example, the Plaza de Espanola fountain is a replica of the Alhambra.
