The town was once known as ‘Helltown’ due to its livestock wranglers’ quest for alcohol. Nowadays, Front Royal is a tourist destination along the Shenandoah River and easily accessible from the Washington Dulles International Airport.

Several of these structures were rebuilt and re-platted in the 1816 area.
