April 25, 2022 | More: Glenwood Springs Colorado| Tourist Attractions

If you’re looking for a fun resort town that is surrounded by spectacular scenery, you’ll want to check out Glenwood Springs. Known for its hot springs, the city is set in the rugged Rocky Mountains and surrounded by the vast White River National Forest. If you’re looking for some outdoor adventure, you’ll find plenty of that in Glenwood Springs, including the Hanging Lake and the Glenwood Caverns, two ancient caves that offer thrilling rides and a zipline.

History buffs will love the historical significance of Glenwood Springs. This historic town is home to the largest hot springs pool in the world, which is 405 feet across and 100 feet deep. This area was a treasured getaway for wealthy miners and aristocrats. Famous people from the town’s past like Doc Holliday are buried in the city’s Linwood Cemetery, which was opened in 1904 to honor the famous gang.

Travelers will enjoy the easy accessibility of Glenwood Springs. Its downtown area is close to hotels, shops, restaurants, and attractions. Taxis are readily available and make stops in all directions, making the city easily accessible without a car. The Visit Glenwood website has extensive transportation information, including links to Amtrak train and airport information as well as valley-wide RFTA bus schedules. If you’re looking for an affordable place to stay in Glenwood Springs, there are plenty of options for you.

A visit to the local ski resort isn’t complete without a day spent in the great outdoors. You can experience the thrill of whitewater skiing or snowboarding right in the town’s downtown area. If you’re looking for something a little more affordable, you can check out Sunlight Mountain. The resort has top-notch glade skiing and light dry snow. If winter is more your cup of tea, Glenwood Springs is the perfect place to spend some time during the colder months.

Near the confluence of the Colorado River and Roaring Fork River, Glenwood Springs is a historic and picturesque town. It is home to the headwaters of the Colorado River, which flows through the town. The Colorado River flows through the city’s Glenwood Canyon, which is a popular stretch for summer rafting. It is suitable for families who want to experience whitewater thrills without the danger of whitewater-induced suffocation.

The hot springs are perhaps the most popular aspect of Glenwood Springs, which many people associate with the area. They’re thought to have been the original draw. There are three rock chambers that contain hot springs averaging 43 degrees Celsius. Iron Mountain Hot Springs has several springs around 40 degrees that feed into seventeen soaking pools. The mineral-rich steam from these hot springs helps soothe sore muscles.

While you’re in town, you can visit the Frontier Historical Museum to experience the olden days of pioneer life. This house museum was constructed in 1893 by Walter Devereux, one of the first settlers in Glenwood Springs. It has also served as a temporary White House and a hospital during World War II. It’s an excellent place to learn about the history of Glenwood Springs. If you’re staying in the area, consider staying at one of the historic hotels.
