Great Falls was founded in 1882 and is home to the world’s shortest river, the Roe. In 1989, the Roe River was named the world’s shortest river. The history museum in Great Falls contains more than ninety years of art, history, and culture. The CM Russell Museum showcases the largest collection of Charles M. Russell art in the world, including his own personal items. The Cascade County Historical Society – History Museum also features interpretive exhibits on Native American life and culture.

The city is located between the majestic Rocky Mountains and the Little Belt Mountains. Originally, the town was settled around the Missouri River, which gives it its name. You can also visit a nearby national park if you prefer. There are plenty of things to do in the area, whether you enjoy hiking, biking, or ice climbing. Located fifteen minutes west of Great Falls, Buffalo Jump Park is a site where ancient buffalo would jump from cliff formations. The park is home to an education center and is a wonderful place to view hundreds of migrating bird species.
