15 Tourist Attractions in Houston

April 28, 2022 | More: Houston| Tourist Attractions

When visiting Houston, you’ll want to explore more than just the famous tourist spots. Try out some of the city’s underrated hangouts and enjoy the unique culture of the city. These must-see attractions and experiences are just a few of the reasons why Houston is such a great place to visit. From the renowned Houston Museum of Natural Science to the Houston Zoo, you’ll be sure to have an amazing time in Houston. There’s something for everyone, and you’ll surely find something that you enjoy doing.

If you’re looking for a little more cultural interaction, you can visit the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art, which offers tours and exhibits. Or, you can head to Space Center Houston for some incredible views. There’s plenty to see in Houston, and if you’re looking for something different, you can even check out the astronauts training for their space walk. When you’re planning your trip, you might want to spend a little time exploring after sunset, too.

You’ll also want to check out the city’s livestock shows and rodeos. Whether you’re a fan of the rodeo or not, there’s a Houston rodeo that’s sure to thrill. This yearly event has donated over $375 million to charitable organizations since 1932! You’ll find plenty of exciting games, bull riding, and pig races to keep the whole family entertained. No matter what your age, Houston has something for everyone.

You’ll also want to find some green space. If you’re into outdoor activities, Hermann Park is a great option. This 445-acre park has a golf course, Houston Zoo, and McGovern Centennial Gardens. The park is also home to Houston Zoo, where you can watch zoo animals. You can even find a free parking spot in Hermann Park, which is a mere 7-minute walk from the Houston CVB.

Another great way to save money while exploring Houston is to purchase a Houston CityPASS. This pass provides admission to five top attractions and skips most of the main entrance lines. The Houston CityPASS also includes the Children’s Museum of Houston and the Downtown Aquarium. For additional savings, you can purchase an All-Day Ride Pass at Kemah Boardwalk. However, some attractions require an additional fee to see them. A Houston CityPASS will save you money in the long run!

You can also shop for upscale goods at the Galleria, Texas’ largest shopping center. With over 400 stores and restaurants, you’ll have plenty to do when visiting Houston. Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Gucci are a few of the high-end stores to check out. You can also find casual boutiques and restaurants here. During the winter, the weather can be frigid, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
