For those who want a taste of the arts, Tulsa is the place to be. The city is home to the renowned Tulsa Symphony Orchestra and hosts a variety of events such as the local theater play and food truck extravaganza. It is also home to numerous live shows and expert-led workshops. If you’re into history, Tulsa is also the city to visit, as it is dotted with Art Deco buildings and giant signs.

For nature lovers, Tulsa has plenty of parks. The Gathering Place, a $465 million riverfront park, has a hundred-acre playground, sports courts, and interactive water fountains. There’s also a 56-foot-tall swing for the kids. During the summer, Turkey Mountain offers hiking and biking trails, plus miles of dirt trails. A paved trail runs alongside the Arkansas River.

Tulsa also has an aviation museum, which focuses on local history. There are sanitary facilities and special events at this museum. It is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Afterwards, head to the Tulsa Aviation Museum, which shows the prosperity of the city prior to the 1921 Tulsa massacre. Despite the violence, the museum’s exhibits are a testament to the people who inhabited the city.

Another landmark in Tulsa is the Golden Driller statue. This 76-foot-high statue represents an oil rig worker, and it was built in 1953. The Golden Driller is a tourist destination and has won many awards for its artistic excellence. Located next to the International Petroleum Exhibition Building, the statue is a striking work of art. This landmark is a must-see for any visitor to Tulsa.

If you love animals, the Tulsa Zoo is worth a visit. The 85-acre zoo contains various wildlife species. It is one of the largest municipal parks in the country and features the Lost Kingdom Exhibit Complex, which displays ancient Asian cultures. A children’s zoo is another place to enjoy with the whole family. While visiting the zoo, you can also interact with animals.

If you’re interested in science, Tulsa is home to the Tulsa Children’s Science Lab. This children’s science museum and play center is located adjacent to the Kyser family’s land. The Brady Arts District is home to Made, a modern handmade boutique where local artists and crafters sell their goods. The Farm Shopping Center, founded in 1971, features over 40 local shops and restaurants. A favorite activity of visitors is sampling the local cuisine.
