March 8, 2022 | More: Souvenirs

Chena Hot Springs Road is a dead-end road that leads to the Chena Hot Spring Resort. The resort is famous for its world-class hot spring, outstanding outdoor rock lake, year-round ice museum, and excellent viewing of the northern lights. The area also has plenty of activities for outdoor enthusiasts, including horseback riding, dog mushing, and skiing. The area is a perfect destination for a family vacation.

The road begins at the east edge of Fairbanks on Steese Highway and heads north. About five miles from the town, it splits off to the south, and then follows the Chena River for another seven miles. The area is known for its pristine hot springs and is popular with tourists and hikers alike. The area offers excellent hiking, fishing, camping, and wildlife viewing opportunities. The town is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding wilderness.

The road is 56 miles long and winds through the Chena River State Recreation Area. The road is a great base for hiking, camping, and float trips. The area is particularly beautiful during the winter and spring months. You can even go horseback riding while exploring the region. The park is open to daytrippers and people looking to rent rooms. However, it’s more popular in the summer and winter. For a more peaceful getaway, consider going in the spring or autumn.

The Chena Hot Springs Road is a scenic route that is perfect for fishing and wildlife spotting. While you’re driving down the road, you can stop for a quick dip in the natural mineral hot springs or visit the Aurora Ice Museum, which is the largest ice museum in the world. If you’re traveling with a family, there’s ample camping and RV parking available near the town. The area is popular year-round, but the summer and winter months are also the best times to visit the area.

If you’re a nature lover, the Chena River State Recreation Area offers 397 square miles of wilderness, rivers, and alpine tundra. Its trail parallels the river and offers many opportunities for fishing and kayaking. The Chena Hot Springs Road offers multiple access points to the area. This way, you’ll never be stranded. There are several hiking options on Chena Hot Springs Road, including the popular Angel Rocks Trail.

Visitors to the Chena River Valley can also enjoy the natural hot springs on the Chena River State Recreation Area. This area also offers access to three established campgrounds and eight public use cabins. The road is also popular for wildlife viewing. You’ll find moose, elk, and other wildlife while you’re hiking. The 3.5-mile round-trip hike will take you through dense evergreen forests to the sheer rock faces of Angel Rocks.
