The city of Lewistown, Montana is in Fergus County and is located in the central portion of the state. The population of Lewistown is expected to reach 5,952 at the 2020 census. The city is southeast of Great Falls and northwest of Billings. The Montana Department of Commerce estimates that it has an estimated value of $1.2 billion. In 2010, the city was known as the “Rural Center of America” and ranked as the ninth most desirable place to live in the United States.
