15 Typical Gifts from St. Augustine Florida

December 10, 2021 | More: Souvenirs| St. Augustine Florida

The city of St Augustine in northeastern Florida is a charming destination for a family vacation. Claiming to be the oldest city in the United States, the historic downtown is filled with Spanish colonial architecture. Visitors should spend time on Crescent Beach and St. Augustine Beach, which are both sandy and peaceful. Anastasia State Park is a protected wildlife sanctuary with plenty to do for families. The Castillo de San Marcos, a 17th century stone fortress, offers stunning views of the inlet and the historic ruins.

Local Art is abundant and cheap. There are many souvenir shops in the historic district of the city. For souvenirs, head to the Historic Print & Map Company, which sells postcards. Magnet Force is a great place to pick up some retro pop culture souvenirs. If you’re into art, check out the recipe magnets offered by the Panama Hat Company. And if you’re looking for something to cool down in the heat, visit the Baja Hat Company, which offers stylish baja jackets.

There are plenty of unique places to shop in St. Augustine. For souvenirs, Old City Gifts has everything from mugs and t-shirts to a collection of vintage goods. For children, the city’s famous zoo has plenty of tee shirts and children’s t-shirts. And if you’re an art lover, you’ll enjoy the Lightner Museum, which features a large collection of fine arts.

The town of St. Augustine is one of the oldest continuously occupied European settlements in North America. The town boasts gorgeous beaches and beautiful Spanish colonial and Moorish-style architecture. There are also interesting museums and a lot of history. Founded in 1565, the town still feels European. Its Spanish-colonial-style architecture makes it feel very European. A stroll through the historic center of the city will give you a feel for how this city was settled centuries ago.

A visit to St. Augustine’s historic district is worth the time. The town is filled with many historic buildings and monuments, including the Monson Motor Lodge where Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested. He was reportedly shot and burned by a mob outside a hotel in St. Augustine. The hotel’s manager, James Brock, was president of the Florida Hotel and Motel Association at the time, and it was later found that the protesters had jumped into the hotel’s pool and were poured muriatic acid into it.

A visit to the Oldsmar district will give you the chance to visit the oldest schoolhouse in the country. It was built by a Minorcan settler, Juan Genopol, who owned a railroad company. The schoolhouse is situated next to an old gristmill, which is now the Mill Top Tavern. Afterwards, a relaxing lunch at the Mill Top Tavern is a must for any St. Augustine visitor.
