The city of Del Rio is in the southwest region of Texas. It is the county seat of Val Verde County, and is located 152 miles west of San Antonio. In 2010, the population of the city was 35,591. While the city is considered to be a tourist destination, it is not well known for its attractions. The best thing to do in Del Rio is to visit the local museums, galleries, and restaurants.

If you love history, then you must visit the Whitehead Memorial Museum. The museum features indoor and outdoor displays on the city’s history and the surrounding region. You’ll learn about the natural and social sciences that have shaped the community. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm. On Sundays, it’s open from 1pm to 5pm. If you’re planning on visiting the museum during certain festivals and special events, make sure to check the schedule in advance.
