Georgetown Colorado is a beautiful city situated in the Rocky Mountains. It is a territorial charter municipality and the county seat of Clear Creek County. Georgetown is located about an hour outside of Denver. It is a charming town with a long and rich history. The town was founded during the Pike’s Peak Gold Rush. The area was named for brothers George and David Griffith who were Kentucky natives. After the discovery of silver in the Argentine Pass area, Georgetown quickly grew. Soon, thousands of mines were dug in the surrounding mountains. Because of the gold and silver deposits in the town, the population grew quickly.

Once a bustling mining town, Georgetown is now a charming Victorian city with a vibrant arts scene. Visitors can stroll through the charming downtown and sample local cuisine.
