While visiting Gig Harbor, you may want to spend a day at one of the many breweries and wineries that dot the waterfront. 7 Seas Brewing, one of the original breweries, offers twelve different beers on tap. Gig Harbor is also home to the Gig Harbor Film Festival.

Gig Harbor is a quaint, scenic town that’s accessible from Seattle and Tacoma. Many visitors have hailed the area as the Venice of Washington, and it’s easy to see why. The town’s laid-back atmosphere makes it one of the most desirable places to buy a home, but COVID-19 has forced many attractions to close temporarily. If you’re planning a visit, consider one of these two hotels in Gig Harbor.

There are numerous parks and public spaces in Gig Harbor, but you’ll likely be most interested in Crescent Creek Park. This 5.8-acre green space was originally used by the Crescent Valley School as a playground. It was once the only park in the city, so many people enjoy spending time there. The park is home to five picnic tables and barbecues, and even a covered shelter. The park also offers tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, and a half-court basketball area. The park is also a popular wedding venue.

While Gig Harbor has a high cost of living, it’s a moderate one compared to most other cities in the United States. The median household income in the city is $84,335 and median property taxes are 1.2% of the median household income. Gig Harbor’s median age is 44.3 years old, and males are generally younger than females. The area has received numerous awards for its quality of life. The most iconic restaurant in Gig Harbor is Tides Tavern. Established in 1910, it quickly became the local watering hole. Featuring local fresh catch, the menu features house-made foods and a full bar. For a drink, you can choose from an excellent selection of wine and beer. The walls of Tides Tavern are decorated with photos of Harbor residents sporting Tides Tavern t-shirts. There’s something for everyone in Gig Harbor.
