Mountain town Helen, Georgia is a popular destination for vacationers from all over the world. The town is dotted with Bavarian buildings and vineyards. The Chattahoochee National Forest has hiking trails leading to Raven Cliff and Anna Ruby waterfalls. Dukes Creek is home to trout, making it a great place to camp or swim. Hardman Farm State Historic Site is a 1870 homestead and burial site of the Nacoochee Indians.

In addition to beautiful surroundings, the town is rich in historical and cultural attractions. A visit to Hardman Farm, one of the newest Georgia State Park Historic Sites, will leave you impressed. The 1870 dairy barn and Italianate architecture of the house will make your vacation memorable. The home’s original owner, Anna Ruby, named the fall for it. You’ll also be able to visit the nearby Nacoochee Mound, an ancient Cherokee burial mound. While you’re here, be sure to check out the Village Peddler Café for a cup of coffee, lunch, or dinner.

If you love art, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to exhibit it in Helen. There are many museums and galleries that highlight the history of Helen, Georgia. The Charlemagne’s Kingdom Museum features German music and model railroads. There are many examples of alpine artistry in the town. There are free admissions to the Charlemagne’s Kingdom, but donations are encouraged to help keep it going. There’s also a museum and 18-hole golf course, and you’ll want to make the most of your time in this picturesque city.

Another popular attraction in Helen is the Helen Water Park. This attraction is a must for families. Children can splash around on four slides and a lazy river. Those over 42 inches tall can ride the slides, while smaller children can play on the playground. The best part is that the park is free of charge! There are many other attractions in Helen, Georgia, so you won’t have to worry about paying for a hotel. This is an excellent way to see the city, as it’s easily walkable and family-friendly.

The Lion’s Eye Nature Trail is wheelchair accessible. The trail includes interpretive signs and a large replica of the Matterhorn. There are also several historical sites in Helen. For families with children, the Old Sautee Store is a great place to spend the day. The store is home to a pottery studio and beautiful details of the historic building. It’s a fun way to learn about the town’s history. It is located in a charming neighborhood of the town.

The Helen Hot Air Balloon Race is a spectacular spectacle and one of the most historic balloon experiences in the South. Unlike most other balloon races, the Helen Hot Air Balloon Race begins in Helen and goes hundreds of miles. Each of the hot air balloon pilots must land every four hours to ensure that the event is safe and fair. The winner is the first balloon to cross I-95 in a single day. This is a fantastic family experience.
