Top 15 Places to Visit in Maui

July 28, 2022 | More: Maui| Places to Visit

The island of Maui is home to over a dozen golf courses. A number of these courses have hosted international competitions. The Plantation Course at Kapalua Bay hosts an annual PGA event. The 7,411-yard course sits on the West Maui Mountains with spectacular ocean views. The King Kamehameha Private Club is located at a higher elevation. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned pro, Maui has an ideal course for you.

Driving to Hana from Pa’ia is a scenic 40-mile journey. The drive to Hana takes about four hours and passes scenic coastline and single-lane bridges. You should take a full day to make the trip and stop for photos. Along the way, you can also check out various villages along the way. Despite the long drive, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views. Here’s a list of places to see while on Maui.

Paia is a surf town with beautiful waterfronts and boutique shops. Paia’s famous Wailua Falls is just next to the road, and it’s quite picturesque. You can swim in the falls, too, which is an added bonus. If you’re looking for a more adventurous tour, you can visit the 10,000-foot-high Mt. Haleakala. Don’t miss Charles Lindbergh’s grave and the Palapala Ho’omau Congregational Church.

The South side of the island is home to the sunniest and driest area of Maui. Located just a half-hour drive from the airport, South Maui has miles of sandy beaches. Swimming and surfing enthusiasts will find a paradise here. Nearby roadside malls and restaurants offer great dining and shopping experiences. It’s also convenient for shopping, since Maui is home to plenty of shopping. If you want to venture out, you can easily take a day tour from the island’s other towns.

One of the most popular places to eat in Maui is at a luau. These are massive feasts that feature traditional dance and native foods. While you might be tempted to jump in the water, luaus are more than dinner shows. The feasts are not just for dinner; the shows feature hula dancers and stories about the culture. You can attend one at a major resort or the Maui Ocean Center in Wailuku. Luaus usually last two or three hours and all the food is included. Many of these luaus are vegetarian, so you’ll have an opportunity to choose which dishes are good for you.

Another popular attraction in Maui is the Road to Hana. This scenic drive takes you past waterfalls, clifftops, and beautiful beaches. You’ll pass several natural landmarks on the way to Hana, one of the most beautiful places in the world. You can choose to drive yourself or take a tour with a small group. There are several other places to visit while on the island, so you can find one that suits your needs.
