This Victorian seaport town is located on the northeastern tip of the Olympic Peninsula and is surrounded by water on three sides. It was once dubbed the “City of Dreams” and was hoped to become the largest port on the west coast. Sadly, the city never got off to a great start, as economic activity shifted to the larger ports in Seattle. While you can still enjoy some great Victorian architecture in the city, it isn’t quite as beautiful as its neighboring communities.

Visiting this charming town means you’ll enjoy an abundance of art, culture, and history. Located in the entertainment district of Port Townsend, the Fountain Cafe is a must-visit. The building that houses the cafe is a historic two-story Mary Webster structure and features a quaint mint-colored exterior. There’s a unique museum dedicated to the city’s rich history. The Kelly Art Deco Light Museum is a must-see for any art lover, and will give you a glimpse of life during the Great Depression.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and beachcombing. The city also has a variety of lodging options, dining establishments, and shopping centers.
