Those who are looking for a family vacation destination should visit the Salem OR area, home to several museums and cultural events. Visitors to the city should also check out the Hallie Ford Museum of Art, located at 2600 Centre St NE. The Hallie Ford Museum explores controversial therapy protocols and features an extensive underground tunnel system. In addition, this museum was used in the film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

If you’re looking for an active weekend getaway, you’ll enjoy the city’s many parks and recreational activities. Minto-Brown Island Park, which covers nearly 100 acres, offers plenty of walking and jogging trails. It also contains a softball field, picnic areas, and an amphitheater that seats 100 people. A variety of playgrounds are also available. And while you’re there, you can also check out the Salem Golf Club, which features nine holes and a nine-hole golf course.

The city also has many other attractions for families to enjoy, including the historic Deepwood Estate, which is located in a Queen Anne Victorian home built in 1884. The city’s uniqueness makes it a great destination for a family vacation.

Visiting the Oregon State Capitol is a must for any Oregon family vacation. It’s a fascinating place with the statue of the Oregon Pioneer on its top.
