You might be surprised to learn that Trinidad, Colorado, is a charming little town that offers many things to do. Its downtown includes an indoor basketball court and foosball tables. The Trinidad Community Center also features a gym and aerobics room. And you’ll find plenty of local coffee houses and restaurants. A stop at the Trinidad Welcome Center can give you helpful information about the area, as well as directions. You can get updated weather information, as well as information on local points of interest.

For a good view of the surrounding landscape, head up Simpson’s Rest. Although the road to get there isn’t in the best shape, it offers some breathtaking views. The town is known for its Trinidad Sign, which looks like a small-town Hollywood sign. If you’re lucky, you can get up close and personal with the statue of Sister Augusta Zimmer. There’s plenty more to see, and you’ll probably spend several days exploring this town.

If you love performing arts, you’ll have no problem finding a place to attend an event. The San Isabel National Forest is home to seven wilderness areas. Two of these wilderness areas extend into neighboring National Forests, while one is located on land managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. Another highlight of Trinidad is Skateland, which has been in business since 1942. It features lazer tag and roller skating. And if you’re looking for a place to spend an afternoon with the family, there’s also the SOCO Clubhouse, a children’s museum.

You can also visit the Southern Colorado Coal Miners Memorial. This monument commemorates the hardworking men and women who worked in the mines in the area. It is full of bronze statues and exciting displays. It celebrates the lives of these dedicated miners, and teaches the history of the community. In addition to learning about the history of mining in Trinidad, you can also check out some of the area’s museums and art galleries.

While in Trinidad, Colorado, you can visit the Trinidad Museum of History, which was founded in 1939. It features many historical artifacts as well as beautiful landscape. If you’re up for an outdoor adventure, check out the Wormhole Loop Trail, which is an eighteen-mile adventure trail that features flat areas and a short climb. The park is also home to hundreds of species of wildlife. This is one of the best ways to spend an afternoon in Trinidad.

Another fun thing to do in Trinidad is to go to the local state park. Trinidad Lake State Park protects the lake from floods. There are endless opportunities for water sports and fishing. There is a boat ramp and docks available if you’re looking for a place to launch a motorboat. So whether you’re interested in fishing or just want to get out and explore the area, the park is sure to have something to keep you busy.
