This 217-acre former vineyard includes galleries, a sculpture park, and a 35-acre lake. Founded by Rene di Rosa, this center organizes exhibitions of contemporary art by local and regional artists and hosts educational programs. In addition to showcasing local and regional art, the di Rosa Center is home to one of the region&#8217;s most important cultural institutions, the Napa Valley Opera House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many activities to keep your entire family occupied. Hot air balloon rides are a fun and memorable way to experience the picturesque Napa Valley. The trip is approximately one hour and includes a glass of sparkling wine for adults. Children must be eight years old to participate. Annette&#8217;s offers two Napa Valley locations. Both locations offer a delicious selection of international cuisine. In addition to fine dining, local wineries offer wine-tasting events for visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A mile-long main street in Yountville is fun any time of the year, but is particularly attractive in the fall, when the leaves begin to change color. The town also hosts a monthly art walk that features several dozen colorful sculptures. A visit to the Sharpsteen Museum, which features the work of local artists, is an excellent way to immerse yourself in local history. For a day of fun in the Napa Valley, don&#8217;t miss the art walk, which is held every Thursday and Friday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For families with children, an old-fashioned ranch is a fun place to take the kids. Children can learn about agricultural practices, rural life, and nature through interactive activities. The center also has a library and several hands-on exhibits. All are free and open to the public. It&#8217;s also worth visiting the Napa Farmers Market on Saturday and Sunday to sample local produce. While the area is bursting with beautiful wineries, it&#8217;s still a great place to explore on a budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While visiting the Napa Valley, don&#8217;t forget to check out Silver Oak Winery, which was founded in 1972 and now spans over 400 acres in the Alexander and Napa valleys. The winery is one of the few in the United States to own an American oak cooperage, and its practices are in line with sustainable winegrowing. Their wines are produced in small quantities, but are always delicious. They offer public tastings all week and private events for small groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to tasting world-class wines, wineries in the region are great for a picnic or a family outing. You can also visit one of Napa&#8217;s many historic sites. For example, the Calistoga Brewery was the first commercial brewery in the region. Now owned by the state, the brewery offers seasonal special beers in 22-ounce bottles.
