It is known for several attractions, including the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area, a 2,700-acre forested headland on the Oregon Coast. Visit the visitor center to learn about whale watching week, or check out Thor&#8217;s Well, a bottomless sinkhole on the Oregon coast. Another place to see in Yachats is the 42-foot-long covered bridge that spans the North Fork of the Yachats River. And, if you are looking to purchase a piece of art, visit the Touchstone Gallery, which represents 120 Oregon artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While in Yachats, make sure to stop by the Drift Inn Gift Shop, which sells fishing tackle and other Oregon Coast themed items. Don&#8217;t forget to purchase some clam chowder while you are there. And don&#8217;t forget to sample the locally-sourced food at the Drift Inn, or enjoy clam chowder to-go. You&#8217;ll be glad you did. There are plenty of places to eat in Yachats, but if you&#8217;re hungry, you can also grab some takeout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re looking for a good place to walk, there are a couple of trails in Yachats. The Yachats 804 Trail, for example, makes use of easements on a rocky shoreline. This land was formerly claimed by a local landowner who didn&#8217;t fit the description of a public beach. However, activists dug up plans from the 19th century and fought for it for ten years. After all, the area has become a state park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yachats is also home to the famous Amanda Statue. There&#8217;s an interpretive trail that pays homage to the forced relocation of Native Americans. The statue of Amanda De Cuys is a stunning piece of sculpture. In addition, the town&#8217;s charming Greenhouse Marketplace is home to art galleries. Earthworks Gallery is a premier exhibit space on the Oregon coast. Touchstone Gallery and Wave Gallery feature exclusive photography displays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can dine at many of the locally-owned, eco-conscious, and luxury motels in the area. For those on a budget, consider staying at Fireside Motel, which has a view of the ocean. For more lavish accommodations, you can opt for the Overleaf Lodge &amp; Spa, which boasts spacious rooms and suites with kitchens and private balconies. The Overleaf also offers spa services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you enjoy hiking, Yachats is a great destination. The Ya&#8217;Xaik Trail, pronounced Yah-Hike in Alseas, is a 1.5-mile hike from the town center. If you are a hiker, you&#8217;ll find endless hiking trails in the area, as well as art galleries and souvenir shops. There are even hiking trails that you can follow to enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Yachats area is home to several historical buildings, including the historic Little Log Church. Just off of Third Street, the Little Log Church was completed in 1930. It served as a place of worship until the late 1960s when it became a museum. In 1986, it was deeded to the city. Nowadays, you can still get married at the Little Log Church.
