There are several small restaurants and cafes, but the Ona Restaurant and Farmhouse is an underrated gem of the Oregon coast. Featuring thirty taps, a menu of farm-to-table dishes, and house-made probiotic beverages, Yachats Brewing and Farmhouse is sure to keep you happy. The cozy atmosphere is surrounded by plenty of plants and reclaimed furniture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tidepools are a must-see while visiting Yachats. There are many natural wonders in this area, including a frothing ocean. It is the perfect balance of natural beauty and human activity. You can find fossils, petrified wood, and more. Yachats is home to a well-loved Fourth of July parade, &#8220;la de da Parade,&#8221; which combines patriotism and whimsy. This event is so popular that local musicians and 39-year-olds are allowed to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 804 Trail, a former tribal footpath, runs through town and connects a seven-mile stretch of beach to the south. This trail passes through three state parks and downtown Yachats. You can also catch a glimpse of the ocean from the Devil&#8217;s Churn and Cape Perpetua Visitor Center. You can also take in the stunning views of the Oregon Coast from these sites. If you are looking for a little adventure, visit Cape Perpetua Scenic Area just south of Yachats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The name Yachats comes from the Siletz language, and is thought to mean &#8220;dark water at the foot of the mountain&#8221;. This region was home to several Native American tribes, including the Alsea, Siuslaw, and Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde. The name of the town is disputed, but one source says that Yachats is derived from Alse, which means &#8220;dark water at the foot of the mountain.&#8221; Native Americans have been living on this land since 570 AD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Silver Surf Motel in Yachats offers free WiFi throughout the building and offers an indoor pool. You can also enjoy a free newspaper in the lobby of the motel. Free parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Smoking is allowed in designated areas of the motel. You can also enjoy a sunset view from the roof-top terrace of this motel.
