A few miles away, there&#8217;s also a campground called Happy Isles that offers tent and RV camping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Yosemite National Park is one of the most popular and scenic national parks in the United States. With over 1200 square miles of natural land and more than four million visitors each year, Yosemite is also one of the largest national parks in the country. The park is home to numerous waterfalls and massive sequoia groves, and is also home to hundreds of species of birds and mammals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re visiting Yosemite National Park in the summer, you can stay at the historic Wawona Hotel. This Victorian-style National Historic Landmark is situated near the south entrance. The Wawona is also quieter than the Yosemite Valley. The hotel also emphasizes disconnecting from the world of technology during your stay. For those with a higher budget, however, there are plenty of other choices for accommodations in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yosemite is a climber&#8217;s paradise. It has attracted climbers since the 1880s, and the sheer variety of challenges there is truly amazing. John Muir, Tommy Caldwell, and Kevin Jorgeson are some of the famous climbers to make the most of their time here. Yosemite has an unending variety of challenges for climbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you visit during winter, make sure to bring a pair of winter hiking boots. The Tioga Road is closed in the winter, but the park offers other winter activities. Yosemite is also home to a ski resort, Badger Pass, and is less expensive than other ski resorts in California. There are many trails, including many challenging and easy hikes, that allow you to take in some of the park&#8217;s most stunning sights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most popular area of Yosemite is Yosemite Valley, where you can view breathtaking waterfalls and cliffs. El Capitan and Half Dome are both famous rock climbing destinations, and the paved Tenaya Lake provides a scenic view.
