A FREE trolley runs from the American Revolutionary Museum to the historic Yorktown Battlefield. Parking in the town&#8217;s Riverwalk landing is also convenient, but you can also find lots of free parking at the American Revolutionary Museum or downtown. Yorktown has a quaint village feel, and it&#8217;s worth visiting both historic sites and shopping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The American Revolution Center at Yorktown is an immersive museum dedicated to the Revolutionary War. This museum features period artifacts, films, and theater experiences to educate visitors on the history of the American Revolution. A visit to the museum gives visitors a unique perspective on the American Revolution, as well as a deeper appreciation of the nation&#8217;s history. If you&#8217;re planning on spending the whole day at the site, the museum is a good place to start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Yorktown Battlefield is also home to a fruit tree orchard and fields for growing cash crops. These crops provided food and other necessities to the colonists. Both Generals Washington and Alexander Hamilton traversed the town&#8217;s battlefield to seek out the best surrender terms. During their visit to Yorktown, visitors can tour the town&#8217;s replica army encampment and learn about the history of the city. They can also take part in the battlefield tour, which is a popular attraction among visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While visiting the town of Yorktown, make sure you don&#8217;t miss the York Hall Gallery.
