Originally established as a health resort, this seaside destination has been the center of the gaming industry ever since. High-rise hotels, nightclubs and spas make for an ideal weekend getaway, and the numerous casino resorts offer everything from performance to spa treatments. In addition, there are plenty of high-end shops and boutiques to peruse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the city is safe during the day, the casinos are notorious for distracting tourists from enjoying the beaches. While the beaches in AC are not as busy as those in the south, you should avoid wandering off the beaten path after dark. Stay in well-lit areas and avoid walking behind casinos and on the beach at night. While it is possible to enjoy the ocean breeze and sun on the beaches in Atlantic City, you should consider heading south to Margate for a more relaxing beach experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Atlantic City airport is 12 miles west of the city, and it provides convenient access from all over the country. Getting to the Atlantic City area by plane is easy because of its proximity to major airports. It is also less crowded and easier to navigate than its southern counterpart. If you&#8217;re coming from farther away, you can take NJ Transit rail service to get to Philadelphia and New York City. If you&#8217;re traveling with a group, it&#8217;s worth considering the bus to avoid the traffic in the busy part of town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The boardwalk is another popular attraction in Atlantic City. The boardwalk, which is four miles long, was built in 1870 and has weathered Hurricane Sandy. Whether you want to walk the boardwalk or ride a roller coaster, this place is the perfect spot to watch the crowds and soak up the sea breeze. It&#8217;s also a great place to buy souvenirs and buy gifts. There&#8217;s a huge selection of arcades and shops, which make this the perfect vacation spot for families with children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re driving, it&#8217;s easy to reach the city from Philadelphia and New York. There are buses that run into the city every two to three hours, and the Atlantic City Express is the quickest route to and from both cities. The cost of a taxi to the casinos and the airport is only a few dollars. Taking the train or bus is also an inexpensive option. If you have a car, the New Jersey Transit bus service is a great way to get around the Atlantic City area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re traveling with kids, you&#8217;ll probably want to visit the famous boardwalk, which is five miles long. Despite its size, it&#8217;s not hard to narrow down attractions in Atlantic City. The city&#8217;s Boardwalk, with its historic landmarks and restaurants, is one of the top tourist destinations, but the infamous Atlantic City Boardwalk is worth a visit.
