While the city has many beaches to offer, it is largely known for its historic architecture and historic landmarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The quiet resorts of Bethany, South Bethany, and Fenwick Island provide the perfect escape from the busy boardwalks of Ocean City and Rehoboth\/Dewey Beach. These three destinations are a great choice for a family vacation. Each has its own unique characteristics and attractions, and you can easily find the perfect place to spend your vacation time. You can also visit the Quiet Resorts of the region on the Coastal Highway to find more information on the area&#8217;s activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the year, Bethany Beach offers a farmers&#8217; market on Sundays. Open from 8 a.m. to noon, this market is the perfect place to find fresh vegetables and other local goods. The market is free to attend and you can purchase local products and souvenirs. And, of course, you can&#8217;t go wrong with Delaware&#8217;s beaches. There are several options for entertainment in Bethany and Fenwick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to see a more relaxed side of the coast, Fenwick Island is the perfect place to take the family. The area&#8217;s small size makes it an ideal location for family vacations. If you want to spend a day outdoors with your kids, take advantage of the Fenwick Farm Ecological Preserve. The preserve is a little oasis on the shore of Indian River Bay. You&#8217;ll also find many other trails and viewpoints that overlook the bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Fenwick Island State Park is the perfect place for families to enjoy the ocean. The three-mile barrier island between Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island was originally a wild place. During World War II, the island was part of the coastal defense system of Delaware. It offers beautiful beaches, excellent swimming, and birdwatching opportunities. Lifeguards are available from Memorial Day to Labor Day. They are on duty from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best places to eat in Fenwick Island are the many seafood restaurants. SoDel Concepts, a Delaware company founded by Chef Matt Haley, boasts a number of popular restaurants in the area. These include Fish On! in Lewes, Lupo di Mare in Rehoboth Beach, and Matt&#8217;s Fish Camp in North Bethany Beach.
