Located on the scenic Kennebec River, these two Maine cities are a great place to spend the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those interested in culture, the town&#8217;s two weekly farmers markets are definitely worth a visit. The Brunswick Farmer&#8217;s Market is the largest in Maine, with 16 vendors offering local and farm-fresh produce. Some of the featured vendors include Apple Creek Farm, which sells organic grass-fed beef, and Borealis Breads, which makes artisan sourdough breads. Copper Tail&#8217;s goats-milk cheese is made in the town of Freeport and is a local favorite. You&#8217;ll also find fresh seafood and lobster in these towns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The town of Bath offers a variety of dining options and is just a short drive away from the beautiful beaches of Acadia National Park. You can visit quaint villages such as Wiscasset, where you&#8217;ll find antique stores and antique shops. If you&#8217;re traveling with children, you can tour the school&#8217;s campus and see the beautiful sights from a front-row seat. If you&#8217;re a theater buff, you&#8217;ll find the Maine State Music Theatre, which presents four Main Stage Musicals annually. There are also concerts and a calendar of children&#8217;s shows, and you can even get backstage and see the performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several things to see and do in Bath and Brunswick, including a great downtown. Today is Second Friday Artwork in Topsham and Bath. Tomorrow, you can catch a live music performance and watch a lobster perched on a roof. There is a historic town square with a large outdoor market. You can buy locally-produced crafts and artwork and enjoy the local culture. If you&#8217;re traveling with children, you can also take a trip to the Osprey nest located adjacent to the parking lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two towns offer a variety of museums. The Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum is free and open through Oct. 18. The Maine Maritime Museum in Bath is free, but is closed through the month of November. You can also take a tour of nearby Bowdoin College&#8217;s campus. A visit to these towns will leave you with an unforgettable experience. They are two of the most popular destinations in the state of Maine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While visiting the cities of Bath and Brunswick, you should not miss the annual tree lighting ceremonies in both towns. The first one, called the Winter Lights Tree Lighting, takes place on the second anniversary of the city&#8217;s first Christmas, and is held at the downtown. It is held on the First Sunday of December, and lasts until March. The festivities are free, but some visitors have to pay for parking.
