The trail ends near the elevators that take you back to the visitor center. For those with a more leisurely pace, it is worth taking the Self-Guided Tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visitors can enjoy two types of tours at Carlsbad Caverns. Self-guided tours are more relaxed, and ranger-led tours require more skills and experience. The guided tours, however, are more challenging, taking visitors through tighter crevices and more exciting terrain, and pointing out natural details. The guides are available to assist you during your visit and answer all of your questions. When planning your visit, don&#8217;t forget to bring a camera and a binoculars for better viewing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The caves are a unique experience for everyone. Whether you&#8217;re looking for an adventure or a relaxing destination to escape the sun, there are many different ways to explore the stalactites and other limestone formations. Depending on your level of fitness, you may want to spend a few days or a week exploring the caverns. The more physically fit you are, the better. With 16-minute film loops, you&#8217;ll be able to explore the awe-inspiring world of the caverns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The caverns are millions of years old, but the caves themselves are only half that old.
