After watching the bats, you can eat at the park&#8217;s cafeteria and grab a quick snack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The caves are home to migratory bats. They arrive in mid-late April and live in the cave until late October. During the daytime, you can see the bats in action during the nighttime Bat Flight program, which is included in your entrance fee. The film is approximately 16 minutes long. If you&#8217;re interested in learning more about the history of cave exploration, the museum offers an overview of the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The caves are not accessible to everyone. The first American to explore the cave was James Larkin White, and his efforts were instrumental in promoting it as a park and tourist destination. While most tours only take a few hours, they can still be an unforgettable experience. You can even take a guided tour through the Big Room or the Natural Entrance. However, to go deeper into the caverns, you&#8217;ll need to reserve tickets ahead of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The entrance to the park costs $12 per adult (ages 16 and up) and is free for children under 15 years old. Admission to the park is free on special days, such as on July 5 and August 21. The museum is open to the public during the day. It is closed on Mondays. The museum closes at sunset, so it&#8217;s best to make arrangements ahead of time. A full-day visit to Carlsbad Caverns is an excellent family activity for all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Big Room is the most stunning feature of the cave. It is the third-largest chamber in North America and the seventh largest in the world. Visitors can take a guided tour of the caves during the day. If you&#8217;re looking for a place where you can see giant stalactites, you&#8217;ve come to the right place. The huge limestone chamber is about 4,000 feet long and 255 feet high at its tallest point.
