Chama is a village in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico. As of the 2010 census, its population was 1,022. If you’re planning a road trip to Chama, be prepared for chilly weather in the spring. The temperature can drop to freezing in May. While this might not seem like a big deal, Chama’s weather patterns are unpredictable. If you visit during May, you should be prepared for some snow. If you’re planning on hiking, make sure to bring plenty of warm clothing in the summer. Otherwise, you’ll be glad you did!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A trip to Chama requires a reservation. It is located about 120 miles north of Santa Fe. If you’re planning a road trip, you can stay at a charming bed and breakfast in the town. The Parlor Car B&B is a charming Victorian home, with period antiques and three guest rooms named after famous railroad luminaries. The nearby Chama Station Inn is another great option. It’s a 1926 adobe building with nine rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The town of Chama is a picturesque village located 120 miles north of Santa Fe. The historic Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad departs from the town’s depot on a daily basis from Memorial weekend to mid-October. The train journey offers spectacular views of the majestic mountain ranges and falls, making it a popular tourist attraction in the area.
