This new route will provide a new connection between the North Albany area and Downtown Corvallis. While the project has been on hold for a few years, Benton County is moving forward with a portion of the U.S. 20 community connection route. The county board directed staff to focus on the final destination for the connective path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Corvallis offers an underdeveloped park, while Albany is home to hip, historic downtown areas. Both cities are characterized by railways and canals running through town. The city is home to Oregon State University, a public engineering-agricultural college. In addition, many farmers and other agricultural businesses are located in the area. During the winter months, the temperatures are higher than in most of the state, a weather phenomenon caused by the factories that line the streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traffic between the two cities is relatively poor. The Van Buren Street bridge, a historic steel truss, is narrowed to one lane. During renovation, the Harrison Street bridge becomes a two-way road. Highway 34-20 is a one-lane highway that is used mainly for trucks. Buses that go to North Albany will usually put you on ORS 20. In the winter, a bus will leave you at the base of the mountain, and you will be able to enjoy the beautiful natural setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the Reeser Stadium, both cities have thriving farmers markets. The cities are situated on the banks of the Willamette River. They are surrounded by dense farmland, with orchards and fir trees. At night, you can enjoy a live concert or attend a jazz festival. And if you&#8217;re interested in shopping locally, you can check out some local stores and boutiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to their large population, both towns are home to many notable institutions, including universities. A century-old farm in Corvallis is known for being the only winery in the state that has a brewery. There are also numerous art and music festivals, but the Da Vinci Days Festival is a big event, so check out the arts and culture scene. You&#8217;ll find everything you need for a great weekend of dining and drinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both towns have a great selection of national chain restaurants, but you&#8217;ll need to be aware that both towns close by nine p.m. The police in both cities are prickly about people walking the streets after dark. Both towns offer renovated historic riverside districts and have more than one 24-hour McDonald&#8217;s.
