The scenic and historic Byway West Elk Loop can take visitors to wilderness areas. The Kebler Pass is known for its colorful Quaking aspen trees during the fall. Shopping and dining are plentiful along downtown Elk Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main street of Crested Butte is called Elk Avenue and is lined with locally-owned shops and restaurants. The town is like a small mountain town, complete with art galleries, home d\u00e9cor stores and clothing boutiques. You can spend a day shopping here and see what the locals are up to. The area is a great spot to relax and enjoy the apr\u00e8s-ski scene. There are a variety of activities for families and everyone will find something to their liking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite its name, Crested Butte is known for its excellent skiing. The city has been hailed as &#8220;Colorado&#8217;s Last Great Ski Town.&#8221; Its world-class mountain biking facilities boast 750 miles of trails and more than 150 individual trails. This means that everyone can find the perfect ride for their skill level. Other activities in the winter include snowmobiling, snowshoeing and ice skating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The weather is perfect for any season. Summers are comfortable and pleasant, with lows in the teens. The winters are chilly and you&#8217;ll need layers of clothing and winter gear. The season for visiting Crested Butte is September through early November, and the fall colors are gorgeous. The temperatures are typically sunny and cool and generally cloudy throughout the year. On average, the temperature in the summer is seventy degrees Fahrenheit, and in the winter it is only six degrees Fahrenheit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The town hosts several unique events throughout the year. The Wildflower Festival pays tribute to the town&#8217;s annual wildflower parade, and includes workshops, photography classes and garden tours. The Music Festival is held every July, and features classical, bluegrass, indie and traditional music. No matter what type of entertainment you prefer, you&#8217;re sure to have a great time. You&#8217;ll want to stay in one of the historic downtown buildings, and enjoy the scenery at all times of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The town is not the most convenient town in Colorado, but the location is worth the trip. Located in the Elk Mountain Range, Crested Butte is a great mountain getaway. A visit to this small town in the Rockies is a memorable experience. While you&#8217;re here, be sure to take advantage of the numerous outdoor activities and art shows held here.
