With tons of access to local water, Dillon offers many options for a personalized float trip. The Beaverhead River runs right through town, and the tailwater section is just a short drive away. Other great places to float include the Big Hole River, Jefferson River, and spring creeks. Depending on your skill level, a local guide can plan a trip to suit your needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The town is heavily dependent on its local ranchers and farmers for its livelihood. As such, the town&#8217;s population can jump to a thousand or even more people around Labor Day. During this time, the area becomes a bustling destination, with events like the PRCA Rodeo. The park also features concerts and other national acts. However, it is recommended that you make your reservation 3 months in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a day of outdoor adventure, head to the town&#8217;s Bannack State Park. This historic town was once the territorial capital of the state, but was abandoned in the 1950s. Today, the town has been restored as a state park, complete with a rustic store with alpaca sweaters and a unique book shop.
