Many tourists visit Fort Bragg to learn more about the army. There are more than five thousand active duty service members in Fort Bragg, and the city is home to many museums and galleries. Fort Bragg is located northwest of Fayetteville and is home to several other military installations. You&#8217;ll find the largest military installation in the world here. Its total population is over 140,000, including nearly 50,000 active duty soldiers, more than 8,000 civilian employees, 3,000 contractors, and close to six thousand family members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The XVIII Airborne Corps headquarters is located at Fort Bragg, and it oversees the 75th Ranger Regiment and U.S. Army Forces Command. Two airfields are located on the base, Pope Field and Simmons Army Airfield. Pope Field hosts the United States Air Force&#8217;s global airlift, while Simmons Army Airfield is home to several Army aviation units. With so many military installations located in Fort Bragg, it&#8217;s no wonder that this military base is home to so many soldiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because Fort Bragg is a sprawling, multi-city area, incoming families may feel confused about which city to choose. To find the perfect home, residents of the area suggest learning the daily commute time of the spouse. Fayetteville, the nearest city, is not always the easiest place to commute to work.
