The museum houses a diverse collection of art, history, sculptures, and other artifacts from historic Florida Keys artists. Highlights of the museum&#8217;s permanent exhibit are the Civil War exhibits and Robert the Doll, which belonged to local artist Robert Eugene Otto. In addition to history, the museum also features interactive exhibits about the piracy that occurred in Key West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the most popular activities in Key West are the buoy tour and visiting the iconic Duval Street. Be sure to arrive early in the day to avoid the long lineups. You should also check out the famous Mallory Square, which stretches from Mallory Square to the Southernmost point. Duval Street is very busy at night, so don&#8217;t go there late at night. This street is notorious for being crowded and packed with tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sunsets can be spectacular in Key West. You can watch the sun set from Mallory Square. This waterfront plaza is lined with historical mansions, art galleries, and the first Margaritaville in the US. You can also find restaurants, souvenir shops, and local dive bars on the street. There is something for everyone here. Just make sure to spend enough time walking down Duval Street. The island is notorious for being haunted, and Key West has a long history of ghost stories. Robert The Doll, a Bahamian servant skilled in voodoo, is perhaps the most famous ghost in Key West. He is said to turn over furniture, scream, and talk. Other haunted sites include the former morgue and the Captain Tony&#8217;s Saloon. The historic site of many hurricane deaths, and 17 hangings, the saloon is said to be haunted by the Lady in Blue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mel Fisher Maritime Museum is another place to explore. It displays some of the world&#8217;s most famous treasures, including a massive silver bar recovered from a Spanish galleon. Taking the lookout tour at the museum&#8217;s lookout tower gives you a spectacular view of the downtown area. The museum is also home to the largest treasure hunter in the Florida Keys, Mel Fisher.
