There are a few reasons to visit Livingston, MT. If you’re an outdoorsman, you’ll love the town’s rivers and creeks. Bozeman is only 30-40 minutes away on I-90, so you can hit the mountains in no time. And if you don’t like the cold, you can check out the area’s ski resorts. Whether you’re on a business trip or simply visiting for pleasure, Livingston has something for you.

If you’re a history buff, you can visit the Livingston Depot. The historic station hosts holiday concerts, community development programs, and weddings. It’s also the site of a large art festival, the Depot Center Festival of the Arts. The Livingston Depot is home to some of the city’s most important cultural events. You can catch a local live concert or attend a historical talk to learn about the town’s history.

The city is also home to three bookstores. One, Elk River Books, is run by poet Marc Beaudin and journalist Andrea Peacock. It’s located in a former Russell Chatham studio and features a collection of local writers. It also has a raw-vegan juice bar and hosts readings, lectures, and concerts. You can also catch a jazz concert at one of these venues. Whether you’re looking for a great book or a boozy night out, you’ll have a good time in Livingston.

When you’re looking for an adventure, Livingston is the perfect location. It’s close to Bozeman, but the city has all of the amenities of a large city. There are hotels and motels in Livingston, as well as many restaurants. For gifts, you can check out the quaint downtown area. The Yellowstone River is also popular for fly-fishing. If you love exploring the outdoors, you’ll find plenty of places to go.

If you’re looking for a cozy place to eat, you can try the Old Saloon. Brett Evje, owner of the venue, brags about the town’s live music scene. Some of the top acts in town include Chandler Huntley, Ian Thomas and the Band of Drifters. Local writers are fond of the pancakes at Pinky’s Cafe. A few other restaurants in town serve a wide range of fare.

If you’re interested in history, you can visit the Lewis and Clark Museum, which is part of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail. Located on 118W Chinook Street, the museum contains permanent and temporary exhibits as well as a “Explorations Room,” which is a great place to spend an afternoon reading a history book or two. The exhibits at the Lewis and Clark Museum include the lives and travel experiences of the explorers who made this part of the world famous. The hamlet was also a great setting for actors such as Peter Fonda and Margot Kidder. In addition, Jimmy Buffett has recorded several songs mentioning the town.

Livingston is a small town, but it gained popularity in the 1880s as the northern gateway to Yellowstone National Park. The Northern Pacific Railroad, one of the first transcontinental railroads in the United States, built a branch line through the Paradise Valley to serve tourists from the east. This branch line provided a convenient resting spot for the NPR’s steam trains, which would eventually climb to Bozeman Pass, which is 5,702 feet high.
