The museum is open daily and offers programs for schools, groups, and even field trips. The Museum is an excellent place for the whole family to spend a sunny afternoon. And, with a permanent exhibit on Georgia history, you can learn about the region&#8217;s diverse history from the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amerson River Park: This park has seven miles of hiking and biking trails. The park also features a playground. Water activities are available in the Amerson River, including a two-mile tubing excursion. Both the park and the museum are open seven days a week, and are well worth the trip. This park is a great place for a relaxing afternoon. There are even music performances at the park. If you love classical music, Macon Georgia has plenty to offer. The legendary singer was born in Macon and got his big break at the Macon City Auditorium.
