The city of Fort Davis, Texas is located in the county of Jeff Davis County in south-central Texas. The population was 1,201 at the 2010 census, up from just over a thousand people at the 2000 census. It is unincorporated, but is still the county seat. It is a well-known agricultural community with an agricultural museum. The city has a population of around 2,000 residents, and is a popular tourist destination.

The Fort Davis Drug Store was founded in 1867, and is a must-see attraction. Originally, it served as the largest settlement in the Trans-Pecos region, and served as a stopover for travelers.
