Sonoma Valley is known throughout the world for its great wines and stunning scenery, and the region is home to over one hundred wineries, as well as breweries and distilleries. The valley is dominated by wine, which is no surprise considering that the valley is home to some of the world’s largest trees. The area also has an interesting history. To experience the best of Sonoma County, make sure to visit one of the many wineries.

The San Francisco and North Pacific Railroad opened in 1880 and connected the city with Glen Ellen. It also connected the city with the Transcontinental Railroad, which made it an easy travel connection from the Bay Area. Both lines stopped at Glen Ellen, which was a popular tourist destination. At the end of the day, you can enjoy some world-class wine and food without having to drive across the entire region. But there’s more to Sonoma Valley than wine and vineyards.

There are more than ten campgrounds in Sonoma Valley California. These are separated by distance from the city. The average grade is 7.5. To find the right campground for you, use this interactive map. After you have selected your campsite, you can start your journey through the region by car or train. Alternatively, you can fly into Sonoma County Airport. The Sonoma County airport is located just minutes from wine country.

Wineries and restaurants are plentiful in Sonoma County. Several acclaimed chefs are located here, such as the chef at Girl & the Fig. For local favorites, head to Wild Flour Bread and Stark’s Steak & Seafood. Oliver’s Market offers locally sourced picnic supplies. While most wine tourists head to Napa Valley to sample the famous California wines, the Sonoma Valley has plenty to offer visitors.
