In Vancouver Washington, you will find a myriad of restaurants to try. The Vancouver Community Library is the main branch of the city and features a family-friendly atmosphere with free WiFi, coffee, and a rooftop view. Another historical landmark, the 1909 Carnegie Library, can be found at 16th and Main. It also houses the Clark County Historical Society Museum, featuring exhibits, events, and a research library. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner or a lively night out with friends, you’ll be able to find something to enjoy in Vancouver.

The Evergreen School District is home to 21 elementary schools and six middle schools, including Burton, Burnt Bridge Creek, Columbia Valley, Ellsworth, Harmony, and Mill Plain. Children in Vancouver can also attend the Home Choice Academy. Vancouver Washington is home to the Vancouver Voice, a weekly alternative periodical that was published for 15 months beginning in September 1852. Grant then resigned from the army and did not serve again until the American Civil War.

Grant Street Pier provides one of the most breathtaking views of the Columbia River. One of the top things to do in Vancouver, Washington is to spend a day strolling Main Street. You can sample delicious local fare and browse intriguing antique stores and dispensaries.

In addition to crafts, vintage and contemporary gifts, and chocolates, Vintage Revival also offers a wide variety of home goods. The store sells candles, L’epi de Provence soaps, and even a line of clothing. It also sells Debi’s Chalk and Clay DIY paint, Rosie Ring candles, and Himalayan salt and soy candles. The average household size in Vancouver was 2.50 people and one family had three or more.

Historic buildings and parks are another great option for sightseeing and exploring the city. Fort Vancouver was a fur trading post founded by the British Hudson’s Bay Company in 1825. The site is now operated by the US National Park Service. During the First World War, the city became the largest spruce lumber mill in the world, and during World War II, the city became a major shipbuilding hub. Despite this history, the city’s industrial base has shifted to service industry jobs.
